Transmission Analytics, Genomic and Computational Epidemiology for Pathogen Dynamics (TAGUA)

TAGUA is an interdisciplinary research group using genomic and computational epidemiology to turn pathogen data into actionable insight for surveillance, outbreak response, and public-health decision-making, with a focus on malaria and other vector-borne diseases.

We develop analytical frameworks, computational models, and open-source tools to uncover how pathogens spread, persist, and resurge across diverse epidemiological contexts. By integrating molecular and epidemiological data, we aim to answer fundamental questions about pathogen transmission and generate actionable evidence for surveillance and outbreak response.

Beyond methodological innovation, we work closely with partners in endemic settings to apply these approaches in real-world contexts. Through collaborative research, training, and capacity strengthening, we aim to advance pathogen surveillance and support more effective and equitable public health responses.
