Group lead

Dr Shazia Ruybal-Pesántez

Dr Shazia Ruybal-Pesántez leads the TAGUA group at ISGlobal (Barcelona), funded by a Fundación “la Caixa” Junior Leader Fellowship. She is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Microbiology Institute at Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador and a Visiting Researcher at the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology and MRC Centre for Global Infectious Disease Analysis at Imperial College London.

Her research integrates genomic and computational epidemiology to understand infectious disease transmission and support evidence-based public health responses.
